Work & Impact

Jeremiah's Place is Southwestern Pennsylvania's only crisis nursery, offering 24/7, judgment-free emergency childcare for children ages 0-6 at no cost to families. Jeremiah's Place (JP) exists to ensure parents and guardians never have to choose between facing a crisis and keeping their children safe. Families use emergency childcare during medical and mental health emergencies and appointments, workforce crises, domestic violence situations, court appointments, housing instability, school/daycare closures, and more. Whether children are in JP's care for a few hours or a few days, they receive trauma-informed care, play-based learning opportunities, and everything they need, from food and pajamas to diapers and hugs.

In 2025, Jeremiah's Place supported 400 unique children from 263 families residing in 67 zip codes. This totaled 2,644 visits, equating to 17,888 hours of care. JP's Therapeutic Childcare team meets each child's unique needs, while the Strong Families team connects caregivers to resources through events, referrals, and community outreach to meet additional needs beyond emergency childcare.
