Three Rivers Youth

A Legacy of Resiliency

Three Rivers Youth preserves and unites families, combats homelessness, enhances educational opportunities and builds life skills for at risk youth.

Three Rivers Youth was founded in 1880 on a social justice platform as The Home for Colored Children, the second oldest organization to care for abused, neglected & abandoned children of color. Over time, we have ridden the tide of change & have aligned ourselves with evidence-based approaches to ensure that the least of us is not the worst-off of us. Three Rivers Youth offers a continuum of care to children, youth & adults: foster care; in home family preservation services; behavioral health; case management & employment services for individuals re-entering society after incarceration; school-based drug and alcohol diversion programs; & a range of drug and alcohol recovery services. We have evolved into an organization that provides a rich ecosystem of interventions and supports that focuses on improving health outcomes, driving the social determinants of health for vulnerable populations, and strengthening families so that they are resilient and remain intact. This year, we proudly celebrate our 145th anniversary and our own resiliency in remaining relevant, agile, and adaptive to the evolving landscape of child welfare and community-based health.

Three Rivers Youth’s Programs & Services

Today, Three Rivers Youth offers a continuum of care for children, youth and families. We fundamentally believe that social factors like chronic and episodic food insecurity, unsafe and/or unaffordable housing, lack of accessible and affordable healthcare, employment that provides a living wage, the quality of our children’s education, and the support we extend to the most vulnerable amongst us directly impacts our health. This is why Three Rivers Youth doesn’t just treat children and families in crisis, mental illness or addiction, we holistically treat the social factors that contribute to poor physical, mental, and emotional health. To the right, are the services that power Three Rivers Youth’s continuum of care.

How Your Contribution Matters

Meeting the basic needs of children, youth, and families, and adults is ground zero in Three Rivers Youth’s service delivery model.

For example, when someone is hungry or uncertain about where they’ll sleep that night

survival takes precedence over working on themselves and

significantly heightens the potential for unsafe, high risk, and self-defeating choices and actions.

Three Rivers Youth invites you to partner with us to ensure that our clients’ basic needs are met so that they can focus on recovery and resilience.
