Support Homeless and At-risk Veterans & Neighbors

Shepherd's Heart Fellowship is a small but mighty Pittsburgh nonprofit doing work I believe in: housing veterans as they transition out of homelessness, running a Drop-In Center for our neighbors experiencing homelessness, and stocking a client-choice Hill Free Store. This year we will serve more than 8,300 people. 

I want to tell you about Austin, a disabled veteran who graduated from our Veterans' Residence. He came to us with nowhere to go — our staff picked him up, wheelchair and all, and gave him a bed, meals, and the time and resources to get back on his feet. In his words:

"I felt an overwhelming sense of joy and fuel to continue on a better path... getting into a place really gave me motivation to continue to strive for better."  

Stories like his are why this work matters, and why days like #OneDay matter.
