Benefiting Wilkinsburg Community Ministry

Fundraiser Story

Feeling concerned about the state of the world? About federal cuts to food assistance programs? About people going hungry? Want to DO something about it? Here's your chance! Join me in financially supporting Wilkinsburg Community Ministries (WCM) this critical needs day. WCM provides food to hundreds of Pittsburgh families every month and does so without barriers to accessing this fundamental resource. In order to do this better, WCM is currently undergoing a capital campaign to raise funds for a new food pantry. The new building, currently being renovated to accommodate the pantry, will quadruple the space of the old pantry. Most importantly, it will provide sheltered space for neighbors to get food. Getting visitors into the pantry (instead of waiting outside in long lines) will dramatically increase comfort, reduce stigma and surveillance, and improve accessibility for the most vulnerable amongst us. There is truly no better time to support this work!
