Beverly's PGH

About this Organization

We are featuring the Greater Pittsburgh Infant Formula Bank service and our mobile infant feeding unit to participate in the 2025 Critical Needs Alert Day.

Founded in June 2022, the Greater Pittsburgh Infant Formula Bank, founded and managed by Beverly's PGH, is Pennsylvania's first public infant formula bank network. With seven brick-and-mortar locations and a mobile unit, the Greater Pittsburgh Infant Formula Bank is an infant feeding network explicitly designed to provide infant formula support, free lactation support, education, and resource connections to children under the age of 1.

The Greater Pittsburgh Infant Formula Bank operates based on the principles of F.E.E.D: feeding, education, engagement, and distribution. Providing infants with access to life-sustaining nutrition is crucial to achieving food equity. We advocate for breastfeeding as the first option for infant feeding while supporting families with formula support. Additionally, we educate families on formula feeding and work to bridge gaps between distribution, medical, and retail channels.

Since inception, we have fed 3,799 babies in Southwestern PA, and the need for our services continues to rise daily.
