Light of Life Rescue Mission
About this Organization
Light of Life Rescue Mission provides food, shelter, and hope to Pittsburgh's most vulnerable-those experiencing homelessness, addiction, mental illness, and abuse. Founded in 1952, our mission is to meet immediate needs while also offering long-term programs that lead to life transformation through the love of Christ.
Each day, we serve hundreds of meals, offer safe shelter, and walk alongside men, women, and children on their journey toward recovery, stability, and renewal. Through case management, counseling, job readiness, and spiritual care, we help individuals rebuild their lives and reconnect with their families and communities.
Our outreach teams meet people where they are-on the streets, in encampments, or in crisis-offering compassion and a path forward. Whether it's a hot meal, warm bed, or lasting change, Light of Life is a place of refuge, restoration, and second chances.
Our newly opened Community Outreach Center now services our Pittsburgh neighbors who are on the verge of homelessness or coming out of homelessness by providing essentials to those suffering from food and housing insecurity through our donation center, food pantry, furniture bank and free store.
