Outreach Therapy

Outreach Therapy is the only outreach life skills training exclusively dedicated to people experiencing homelessness in Western PA, bridging the gap from housing first to community integration. Adjusting to housing presents challenges such as social isolation, a shift from survival to long-term planning, (re)learning skills such as cleaning, cooking, and managing finances. Without specific targeted support, the loss of housing and return to homelessness may result. 

Our occupational therapists break down barriers by meeting people where they are: outdoors, in shelters, and in housing. We provide equitable, strengths-based, trauma-informed occupational therapy integrating environmental accessibility, physical, mental health, and cognitive rehabilitation specialized for the transition out of homelessness. By problem-solving together in real life, we maximize success in housing and end the cycle of homelessness.
