Ronald McDonald House Pittsburgh Morgantown

Last year, over 1,000 children received care from the Ronald McDonald House Care Mobile at a total of 186 clinics!

During the most difficult times in a child's medical journey, the Ronald McDonald House Pittsburgh Morgantown has been there to provide families with a comfortable place to stay close to the care they need, and access to pediatric healthcare in their own neighborhood. We know what it means to be a "light in a dark place" and we continue to be responsive to the changing needs of our families.

In recognition of our mission, UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and Ronald McDonald House Pittsburgh Morgantown partner together to provide pediatric care to children throughout the Greater Pittsburgh area and surrounding counties free of charge six days a week all year long. In 2025, the Care Mobile pediatricians, nurse practitioners, nurses and respiratory therapists were able to administer 1,911 vaccinations, 856 physical exams, 761 vision screenings, 276 food insecurity surveys and much more. 

For children who are under or uninsured, or for those whose parents cannot travel to their appointments for any number of reasons, consistent and reliable healthcare can be hard to come by. This can prolong their inability to address certain health concerns or obtain immunizations or physical exams necessary for school or extracurricular activities. The Care Mobile brings pediatric medical services to their communities, not only making the care they need to succeed and grown closer, but also free of worry from lack of insurance coverage, as no child is turned away based on their ability to pay. The vehicle ensures that all children in the Greater Pittsburgh area are given the opportunity to grow and be well without uncertainty.
