Pittsburgh Conservation Corps d/b/a Landforce

About this Organization

Landforce is an employment social enterprise nonprofit that focuses on three pillars: workforce development, environmental stewardship, and new this year, wood production. At Landforce, we invest in Pittsburgh-area people and the land we call home. We hire, train, and support people who have been excluded from family-sustaining career opportunities. By providing training, career coaching, and hands-on training in paid transitional jobs, we are helping people get back to work, all while working on projects that directly improve the environment.

For the past 9 years, Landforce has served people living in Pittsburgh and the neighborhoods immediately surrounding it. Take a look at some of the numbers:
- We have trained and employed 201 Crew Members, providing 80,000 hours of environmental stewardship to our region.
- Our Crew Members have participated in 30,783 hours of training and 2,776 hours of career coaching.
- We have worked on over 193 land stewardship projects in historically disinvested communities.
- On average, 90% of our finishers go on to other employment within two weeks of completing our season.
