Allegheny Health Network

About this Organization

Allegheny Health Network's (AHN) Center for Inclusion Health (CIH) within the AHN Medicine Institute creates research, teaching, service design, and policy interventions developed with-not just for-people experiencing social and health exclusion.

CIH has created interventions rooted in a harm reduction model - meeting people where they are physically and emotionally - and providing low barrier services. CIH has compassionate, skilled, dedicated multidisciplinary teams to provide primary and specialty services, and are trained in motivational interviewing, trauma informed care and harm reduction principles. CIH employs many individuals, including Community Health Workers (CHWs) with lived experience to promote a safe space and to build trust among our patient population.  CIH provides services in traditional clinical settings, on the street, in the jail, with their pets, mobile units and via telehealth.

Programs include: Medical Respite, Healthy Food Centers (Food Insecurity), Center for Recovery Medicine (Addiction), Intimate Partner Violence (Onsite Advocacy), Human Health Coalition (Care for People and their Pets), Immigrant and Refugee Health, Homeless Outreach and Street Me
