North Hills Community Outreach Inc. (NHCO)

North Hills Community Outreach addresses the needs of people in crisis, hardship and poverty in Northern Allegheny County. Through our various services and programs, we foster self-sufficiency and while treating all individuals with dignity, understanding and caring.

North Hills Community Outreach (NHCO) is a nonprofit organization that has served individuals and families in crisis, hardship, and poverty across northern Allegheny County for nearly 38 years. All services are provided free of charge to low-income households and are designed to meet basic needs, supporting pathways to financial stability, and help older adults live safely and independently. Last year, NHCO provided 27,415 services to 4,738 households. This included food support through three community pantries, free tax preparation, rental and utility assistance, seasonal Sharing Projects like back-to-school supplies and holiday distributions, and a range of services for older adults. These efforts were made possible through the dedication of 698 volunteers, who gave more than 23,600 hours of service. NHCO continues to be a trusted resource and lives into our vision that no one needs to be cold, hungry, or along.
