Onala Recovery Center

About this Organization

Onala was founded as a social club for members of Alcoholics Anonymous in 1952 ("Onala" is an abbreviation of Alcoholics Anonymous spelled backwards). What was once a small, private club is now a full-service public resource center for individuals and families impacted by substance use conditions. Onala is one of the oldest and largest facilities of its kind on the East Coast.

Onala Recovery Center is now a full-service nonprofit providing a safe community space where individuals with substance use disorder and their loved ones can find resources, support and fellowship. We offer a safe, inclusive environment centered around peer-to-peer recovery. Our facility is open every day and is centrally located in Pittsburgh's West End near the Duquesne Incline along one dozen bus lines. Stop in or call today to see how we can help you in your recovery no matter where you are in your journey.
