Family Resources

Family Resources is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to preventing and treating child abuse and trauma by strengthening families. We believe that every child deserves to grow up in a safe, stable, and nurturing environment, and that strong families are the foundation of healthy communities.

Our work is rooted in a trauma-informed, family-centered approach that recognizes healing cannot occur when families are struggling to meet their most basic needs. While mental health services are central to our mission, we understand that barriers such as food insecurity, unstable housing, lack of transportation, and financial hardship often prevent families from accessing and fully engaging in care. Children who live in poverty are more likely to suffer abuse and trauma.

By addressing both immediate needs and the underlying causes of family instability, Family Resources empowers families to build resilience, achieve stability, and create lasting positive outcomes for future generations.

While Family Resources receives government funding to support many of our essential programs, those funds alone cannot meet every family's needs. When a child is sleeping in a car, a parent has no way to get to counseling, or a family is choosing between groceries and keeping the lights on, they cannot wait for the next funding cycle. They need help today.

That is where our community makes the difference.

Private donations give Family Resources the flexibility to respond when families have nowhere else to turn. They provide emergency food for hungry children, transportation so a child can attend therapy, assistance to help a family remain safely housed, and access to trauma-informed mental health services that foster healing and hope. These are the critical supports that help stabilize a family and create the conditions for lasting change.
