Welcome Home, located in downtown Greensburg, is an emergency shelter that can house four (4) families and ten (10) single women. Welcome Home is more than just a place to sleep, offering classes on important life skills, such as budgeting and nutrition, through our partnerships with Penn State Nutrition, Westmoreland Community Action, The Blackburn Center, and Life Way Pregnancy Center. The housing case management provides support and assistance to program guests as they work towards finding housing, while ensuring participants are referred to all qualifying community programs. Welcome Home also offers follow-up for all program participants up to a year after discharge, to ensure that the women and families we serve are linked to needed resources to prevent the re-occurrence of homelessness. The follow-up program also supports the building of supportive community relationships, which are key to helping individuals remain in permanent housing.
