YMCA of Sewickley Valley

A nonprofit organization

The Mission of the Sewickley Valley YMCA is: To build a healthy spirit, mind, and body based on Christian principles and to improve the quality of life for children, individuals and families in Ambridge Area, Cornell, Moon Area and Quaker Valley school districts.

Since 1894, the Sewickley Valley YMCA has been dedicated to building a strong community. Our founders understood the power of unity, growth, and support in bringing people together. Today, we remain committed to their vision by ensuring everyone is embraced at our Y, regardless of their financial situation. We are a trusted partner for individuals of all ages and backgrounds, offering support and guidance through personal and economic hardships. Whether it's affordable child care, or helping to remove barriers to accessing food, the Y opens its doors to all.

Testimonials

Meet Alexa, a single grandmother of three whose children attend YMCA child care thanks to donor-funded financial assistance.

"I never imagined I'd be raising my three grandsons at this stage of my life, but I am the primary caregiver for three very active boys. In 2021, the boys began attending child care at the Y, made possible by the financial assistance program. The Y allowed me to pay reduced rates, which allowed me to continue working. Their energy was met with structured activities that made learning fun. We also attended family events to burn off extra energy and participated in programs that gave the boys winter coats and shoes. The Y has been my lifeline".
