The YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. We create opportunities for women and girls to lead purposeful lives and strive for a community that values diversity.

Among the YWCA's many programs and services are Literacy programs that include adult basic literacy and English as a Second Language classes; a Technology Center that teaches basic and advanced computer classes in a small, personalized lab setting as well as a mobile lab that is used to teach classes at the County high-rises. We provide a TechGYRLS program to teach robotics to middle school girls; and support groups that include an International Women's Group for foreign-born women; a Social Justice program; Health and Wellness programs including yoga, Bridge, tai chi; a Thrift Shop and clothing program that serves PA WORKWEAR clients who need clothing for job training and placement programs in Westmoreland County. It is also a source of income to support the mission of the YWCA.
