Emma's Fundraiser for TIP

The Trade Institute of Pittsburgh is a non-profit, tuition-free carpentry and masonry training program for men and women with barriers to employment. During this #ONEDAY Critical Needs Alert, you have the opportunity to support our students in getting to their NEXT!

I proudly joined the TIP team as staff in April 2026. I had been following and supporting their work since 2021, and over that time have seen the organization evolve and grow to better meet and address the barriers that impact our students. Over the past 5 years, it has been clear to me that this is an organization that seeks creativity, collaboration, and boldness when it comes to the work. 

In joining the TIP team, I've gotten to witness the magic firsthand. TIP is so much more than a workforce development non-profit, TIP is really about human and holistic-development to support long-term success both career and life-wise. From our morning gratitude circles to our case management to our life skills class to laying brick, and everything beyond and in between, TIP is allowing each student to graduate feeling empowered and ready for their next step. 

I feel both proud and lucky to be a part of the TIP team. In my work as the Development Manager, I have the opportunity to share TIP with people everyday, and it's truly a pleasure to bring people into our TIP community. 

Today, I am excited to invite you to be a part of TIP! Your gift today, no matter the size, will allow us to continue to be creative and bold in how we show up for our students and alumni. For example: 

• $25 - Provides a student with a 7-day bus pass to ensure they can get to and from TIP each day. 
• $50 - Covers the fees for an initial PA driver's learner's permit. 
• $125 - Provides a graduate with a full tool belt to start their first day on the right foot.
