Fundraiser Story

The Counselor‑in‑Training (CIT) Program at Camp Kon‑O‑Kwee Spencer is a four‑week leadership experience for teens entering 11th grade. The program equips teens with skills in leadership, responsibility, and youth development that prepare them for future employment at camp and beyond.

"Being a Counselor in Training was one of the most rewarding and transformational experiences of my life. It fostered a love of education and prepared me for future roles in mentoring and community engagement." -Chloe Spadafora, Pittsburgh CAPA HS

With a cost of $2,299, many teens need financial assistance for this opportunity. Our goal is to raise $1,000 to make sure that financial assistance is always available for our future leaders!

About the Organization

The YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh works side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. We know that lasting personal and social change comes about when we all work together. That's why, at the Y, strengthening the community is our cause.
