Benefiting Wilkinsburg Community Ministry

Fundraiser Story

I am a proud member of the board of Wilkinsburg Community Ministry. I had been a supporter for years and was excited when asked to serve. We provide foods to local families that are essential for the preparation of healthy meals Currently, we serve approximately 4500 families per month in Wilkinsburg and the surrounding area; that number continues to increase. Folks get to choose what they need rather than every family being given the same package of food. This, and that we heavily rely on volunteers, shows that we are valued members of the local community. Food is donated to WCM, but we also need to purchase much of it. We are also relocating to a larger building that will have handicapped access and more space for food and for clients to be able to wait indoors during busy times. This will also increase our expenses. If you are able, please consider a donation to WCM on August 5, the Critical Needs Day of Giving. I, the Board and our neighbors thank you!
