Some of you remember my friend Ruth Kitner from the baseball games each year. She loves baseball! You may not know that she is the director of an organization that helps with food insecurity in Wilkinsburg, the Wilkinsburg Community Ministry. Changes in our government are increasing food insecurity!! If you could give something via my link, this would be partially matched by the Pittsburgh Foundation! The deadline is August 6, 2025, but you may start giving on July 15th. Consider in lieu of any sort of birthday celebration!

The Wilkinsburg Community Ministry (WCM) operates a food pantry for residents of Wilkinsburg and neighboring areas to address nutrition and food insecurity in the east Allegheny County area. The operation area includes East Homewood, Park Place, Regent Square, Swissvale, Swisshelm Park, Edgewood, & East Hills, approximately a radius of 7 miles from our central office.
