Since we opened the doors at Just Harvest in 1986, I've been privileged to be a part of our team working for long-term solutions to hunger and for food justice for all. Throughout these years, we've:

• won school breakfast programs
• conducted ground-breaking research on childhood hunger
• increased government funding for emergency food programs
• reduced barriers to SNAP and WIC and targeted tax credits for low-income families
•  connected tens of thousands of families people to public benefits
• put the issue of food deserts on the agenda for local and state government.

Most recently, along with valued coalition partners, we've won the new AlleghenyGo transit discount program for households receiving SNAP and a new Food Justice Fund in the City of Pittsburgh's program of recovery from the COVID pandemic.
