Healthy Start has been working with families for over 30 years to support healthy pregnancies and growing babies. The organization's mission is to improve maternal and child health and to reduce poor birth outcomes and infant mortality in Allegheny County. During this time in our country when funding is being cut in many areas, this is an agency that will need your help to continue to serve women and children. Healthy Start works with local residents, medical providers, social service agencies, businesses and faith-based organizations to reduce the infant mortality rate and the number of low birth weight babies born in Allegheny County each year. $50 provides a month's worth of diapers and baby essentials for a new mother. $100 provides a prenatal education workshop for expectant mothers. $250 provides a doula's guidance and care throughout childbirth. Every child deserves a Healthy Start!
