The YMCA has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember! As a kid I took swim lessons, learned to play sports, and had birthday parties at the Y. As a teen and college student I came to swim in the outdoor pool and use the fitness equipment. And now as an adult I've worked for the Y for over 6 years so I truly get to see and understand the impact the YMCA has on the surrounding communities. I now realize a lot of the programs and opportunities I had growing up are not possible for a lot of families but also that the YMCA will never turn anyone away. From July 31st through August 5th we are asking for donations that will go towards our Annual Campaign. With these donations, we are able to offer financially assisted memberships and take the next step of helping families afford swim lessons, summer camp, and sports programs. I've given myself the goal of raising $500 to go towards this great impact the YMCA continues to provide for the community.

The YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh works side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. We know that lasting personal and social change comes about when we all work together. That's why, at the Y, strengthening the community is our cause.
