I've chosen to help raise $1,000 for WIN-Spirations, Inc. as I've witnessed the positive impact they have made towards our community. An old proverb suggests "Give a man a fish and he eats for 1 day; Teach a man to fish and he eats for a Lifetime." WIN-Spirations embodies this mission by empowering individuals toward self-sufficiency via Employment and Workforce Development while also providing professional clothing, toiletries & even food for immediate needs. Their Digital Literacy classes and Mobile Computer Lab truly "meet" people wherever they may be on their journey to positive self-improvement. Our purpose is to reduce poverty and build gender equity by providing networking, professional mentoring, and education to individuals experiencing economic hardship. We do this by removing employment barriers, job training, and support in finding sustainable employment. We work with individuals that face economic hardship, have mental health/IDD diagnosis, SUDS/Recovery, homeless or at risk of homelessness. We do this by supporting individuals in either of our offices or being mobile in the community. Our two locations include: WIN Resource Center, 228 W. 7th Av., Tarentum, PA 15084 & WIN Workforce Development Center, 29 W. 2nd Street, Greensburg, PA 15601.
